Into Dark Memory

You have no idea how much I want to share the sounds of these songs, especially on this one. I just sing the hell out of it, which is actually fairly new for me! I wail and become breathy, sad, which swings to a frustration where it almost sounds like I'm going to crack and the song is going to entirely fall apart when instead a roar begs furiously again for things to "fall into dark memory" and a freight train responds, pleading - almost laughing till it cries that "it's best for me". But let me record it properly before I take our time to share it. Of course the lyrics are subject to change and there are about two lines (maybe three) which I'm almost positive I'll change for the final recording...but not sure yet.

"Into Dark Memory" was written wholly by accident in 15 minutes on a lunch break last week; in fact I actually came home to sing "Lovely Just the Same" for myself and when I picked up the guitar new licks came out of my fingers and I just started singing this.

Hope I don't love you forever/ Hope I don't want you around/ Hope I forget all this was babe/ Another strange face to me now// Hope I don't think of you that often/ Hope I don't thirst after your heart/ Hope I forget all this was babe/ From angry ending to beautiful start/ - And let it fall, in dark memory/ You gotta know, it's best for me baby//- Don't want you back, no matter what I say/ Cause the woman I want, ain't been around for someday// And I hope I forget all you were babe/ So I can see all you became/ Hope I stop being so hopeful/ Toss away this senseless pain/- And let it fall into dark memory/ Don't you know, it's best for me baby/ Let it fall, into dark memory/ You gotta know, it's best for me baby.

  2. Aw thanks a ton. That's really sweet of you. Encouraging. Mmm. It seems I've yet not tapped into the blessing of taking a compliment entirely gracefully :D ha!
